Among others, the PR4101 is for applying LED lamps in 12 / 24 V grids for retrofit applications. Based on additional electrical components, single or multiple LEDs can be operated with currents from 100 mA up to several amps. Efficiencies > 90 % are obtained when the IC is applied properly. Individually, the LED current can be selected by a low ohm resistance (< 1 Ω).
Beside a variety of shutoff functions as LED or IC overheating, a unique selling point is given by a low standby current of less than 35 µA. PWM dimming as well as softstart are some of the properties that can be used based on additional electrical components.
Without any external MOSFET, the LED driver PR4102 operates LEDs with currents up to 45 mA. The LED current of up to five white LEDs can be regulated if a sufficient supply voltage is available. In addition, the LED current can precisely be operated by a low ohmic resistor. While operation different brightnesses can be obtained by PWM-dimming.
Switching gate voltages of 3.8 V enables LED currents of about 1 A. Simultaneously, the LED driver PR4103 has a SOT23-5 package with minimum dimensions. Reliably as the PR4101, the PR4103 switches up to supply voltages of 20 VDC (14 VAC).
